Mindy's Musings - Daily Escapades Through The Extraordinarily Ordinary

I Am Me

The more things change, the more they stay the same. I found a box of old papers and notes (my mom saved everything) and had a wonderful time walking down memory lane.

I was happy to see that grown up Mindy is very much like Mindy as a child. Not too tainted by the tough stuff and reality that creeps into our lives as we go from childhood to adulthood- I still have a big smile most of the time, and like to tell riddles, as long as they rhyme.

How about you? Would today’s you be friends with yesterday’s you? Do you recognize the child you were in the adult you are today? I’m curious if your experience is similar to mine, so let me know!

“I Am Me” be yourself
by Mindy Levy (1977)

My name is Mindy
And I’m almost thirteen
My eyes are hazel
But some say they’re green

I love to play tennis
I’m not bad on the courts
Though baseball’s my favorite
I like all kind of sports

I like to eat snacks
And like to cook
Sometimes I like
To read a good book

I have a big smile
Most of the time
I like to tell riddles
As long as they rhyme
